Instructions on How to Do Skateboarding Tricks - Secrets of Skateboarding Revealed

Are you absolutely frustrated by how difficult it is to learn new skateboard tricks? I bet you are! I always see skaters kicking and slamming their skateboard around when they have a hard time landing a new trick. You probably watched some “trick tip” videos, but they didn’t help. Your friends probably tried to teach you but you still couldn’t land them. Or maybe you did, but only once or twice.

If you did learn a couple of tricks, but how long did it take you? A month? Two months? A year? If it took your more than a week, then you are not learning as fast as you could! Here are some simple step by step instructions on How to do Skateboarding tricks:

The Ollie:

1) First place your back foot on the tail. Position your toes so that they are on the tip of the tail. Your shoulders should be in line with the board.

2) Place your front foot in the center of the board.

3) Kick down with your back foot, in one flowing movement jump and slide your front foot up the board, this should level it out in the air.

4) Land and bend your knees to absorb the impact.

The Ollie is really the foundation of skateboarding tricks. Keep reading for even more instructions on how to do skateboarding tricks.

The Shuv-It:

1) Have your back foot on the tail. Its best to have your toes on the toe side corner of the tail. So you can rotate it more easily.

2) Place your front foot just behind the front truck bolts (like for an ollie.)

3) Concentrate on the board.

4) With your foot still on the corner of the tail apply a bit of pressure on the back foot (raising the board off the ground slightly), swing your leg round, your front leg should also go round in the direction of the back leg, however only slightly. Most of the work should be done by the back foot.

5) Your body should remain as it is, and should not spin around.

6) In order to catch the board jump forwards.

7) Land on the grip tape.

8) Roll away with the board still under your feet.

The Pop Shuv-It:

1) Have your back foot in the ollie positon (toes on the end of the tail). Have your front foot in the center of the board - like for a shuvit. 2) Pop the board down by kicking your back foot down, so the tail connects with the ground. In the same movement you should be scooping your back foot in the direction in which you wish the board to spin. This should make the board rise of the ground and begin to spin.

3) Most of the work for this trick should be done with the back foot. The front foot doesn’t really do much.

4) As the board is spinning in the air, jump forward to catch the board. Try land this with your feet on the truck bolts for the best landing. Bend your knees as you land to absorb the impact of the trick.

5) Roll away. Be proud of yourself for landing a fairly decent trick.

The 180 Ollie:

1) Have your back foot on the tail (like the ollie position.) Place your front foot in the middle of the board.

2)Wind your body up so that you are prepared to spin in the direction you are aiming for you and the board to go in (anti clockwise if regular, clockwise if goofy.)

3)Swing your upper torso around in the direction you want to spin in, look over your shoulder in the direction you are aiming for.

4)Ollie and push your legs and the board round in the direction your upper body is heading. This should cause you and the board to spin a full 180 degrees.

5)Land and ride away in a fakie.

The Nollie:

1)Place your front foot on the nose - i prefer having it somewhere near the end to allow you to nollie higher. Place your back foot in the middle of the board.

2)Stomp down with your front foot, jump and level the board out with your back foot by sliding it up towards the tail end of the board.

3)Bend your knees to absorb the impact of this trick.

The Manual:

1)Place your back foot on the tail - it’s usually best to have your toes on the center of the tail so that it is easier to limit how much pressure you are putting on the tail. Have your front foot on the front truck bolts to make adjusting how much pressure you are putting on the front of the board more easier.

2)Gather some good speed for this. Press down on your back foot, this should raise the nose off the ground. If you feel the nose going down, lean backwards, if you feel the tail going down, lean forwards.

3)When you feel you can balance no more lean forwards to set your nose firmly down. Try to avoid scraping your tail on the ground too much when practicing these as it will wear it away making the tail thin and prone to breaking.

Now the tricks are getting a little tougher but my instructions on how to do skateboarding tricks should help you out.

The Nose Manual:

1)Place your front foot on the nose (toes in the center - this will help you to apply or decrease pressure on the nose more easily.) Have your back foot on the back truck bolts.

2)Gather a bit of speed together and apply pressure to the front of the board to get the back wheels of the ground. If you feel the tail go down, lean forwards, if you feel the nose going down, lean backwards.

Skateboarding - How to Do a 360 Flip

This is pretty much my favorite skateboarding trick. The 360 flip combines a 360 shove it with a regular kick flip into one of the coolest looking tricks in the skate boarders arsenal. Be sure to have 360 shove its, ollies and kick flips down before attempting the big 360 flip. Follow my few simple tips and you should be pulling these off in no time.

It’s All In The Back Foot…well not totally but a large part of pulling this trick off with good style depends how you paying attention to a few things with the back foot. So, keep your toe slightly hanging off the tail of your board…not too much but about 1/3 of the way off. Begin by scooping the board with your foot like you would with a 360 shove and really focus your mind on your back foot scooping it around in an almost over rotation. In other words really scoop it hard.

BIG Kick When I do this trick I almost think of doing a jump kick. You really need to jump high and kick your foot out while scooping with the back one. Have your toe pointing a little more straight forward then you would with a kick flip. Now you don’t need to kick it like crazy…but you will need a solid flip to make it all work together.

All Done Well…almost Ha Ha . Now you just need to land it *GULP* Yeah, the hard part. This will take practice and good timing. Try to catch your board in the air with your front foot first. Don’t lean to far forward try and stay over top of the board as much as possible. I would also advise you try the trick with a little speed. It might seem easier to do it stationary but trust me, speed is better with all tricks and you will learn it much faster.

Use these tips with regular practice and you will have the 360 flip down in no time.

I hope this info help and good luck!
